Established over 30 years ago, the Club Ravel is a platform for direct exchange and in-depth discussion with specialists from the Swiss (French-speaking) energy world in a friendly, personal setting. Club Ravel focuses on practical, applied technical topics that inspire participants. It was created on the basis of the ‘RAVEL impulse programme’ initiated by the Swiss Confederation in 1991, RAVEL standing for ‘RAtionelle Verwendung von ELektritzität’, or ‘rational use of electricity’.
Today, the Ravel Club is active within the framework of the Swiss government’s Energy Strategy 2050 and covers a wide variety of topics. To reflect this variety, a programming committee has been set up for 2019, made up of specialists from the ASIG, HEIG-VD and AES, as well as the founding members of the Club Ravel.
The Ravel Club currently has 46 regular members from companies and interested parties in the energy sector, as well as a large number of occasional participants (around 250 people). Club Ravel meetings are held several times a year, on the first Tuesday of the month. The lectures, which take place at the end of the day, feature technical presentations and are followed by an aperitif. The aim of these evenings is to enable interested parties to keep abreast of new developments in the energy sector and to get to know partners who are facing similar challenges.
