VERBIER SUMMIT is the global forum for sustainability and finance in the Swiss Alps. A forum that aims to solve some of the world’s biggest problems, such as the climate, nature and biodiversity crises, as well as the Sustainable Development Goals. To this end, 200 leaders and executives, along with top startups and investors, are gathering in the beautiful ski resort of Verbier, to accelerate sustainable and positive impact on a large scale.
2023 was the hottest year on record, our oceans are warming unsustainably, and the UN’s IPCC scientific report indicates that we have just four years left to reach the peak of our global climate emissions. Under the Paris Agreement, we need to achieve zero net emissions by 2050 to reach our 1.5°C target. With more than $9 billion a year needed to reach this target, and $130,000 billion committed to this transition at the recent COP28, we are entering a new sustainable future. But how are we going to unlock, implement and catalyze this net-zero, nature-positive economic transition? The aim of the Verbier Summit is to harness the collective and creative power of business, finance and technology to achieve this.
This event will take place on Friday, March 15, 2024 at the Hotel W in Verbier. The day will be conducted in English. CleantechAlps is a proud partner.
